Sebastian was rather bored. Everything was taken care of, there was nothing more for him to complete. He sighed, almost exhausted. Cleaning the ostentatious Phantomhive Manor was always so much work and Sebastian was just relieved to be finished with the overwhelming task of cleaning it all. He was rather uninterested in lounging, but without any horrendous orders from his Master, he found himself sitting out on the front steps. He would have found the view he had very beautiful and been in awe of it if he was human. But then again, Sebastian was not a human.
The demon became intrigued in a sound. Particularly the sound of soft paws on grass. A light mew followed. Sebastian instantly gazed upon the small kitten, wandering up to the Manor. "You... So you're the one I've been hearing, aren't you? Are you hungry?" the demon inquired to the creature that was now at his feet. He picked up the sweet kitten and put it in his lap, stroking it's fur with a careful and steady hand. He just loved cats. Sebastian could only hope that nothing would interrupt this moment.

The male rounded the corner as he strolled throughout the enormous mansion, small hands on even proportionately smaller clothed hips. The sound of a soft meow followed by Sebastian's deep voice had alarmed him and drawn his attention; did the butler not know by now that felines were not allowed in this manor? After all, Ciel was allergic, and any contact with cats or even a bit of their fur could trigger his allergies, and potentially a crippling asthma attack.
"Sebastian," he spat, voice authoritative as he stared at the raven haired man petting the kitten before him, "what is that thing doing here?" A foot began to tap against marble flooring; the boy hoped this would get his discontent across. "You know I am allergic to these animals. Cats are not allowed in my manor. I suggest that you get rid of this one immediately, unless you have some other type of compromise in mind."

He was almost inarticulate, holding the kitten protectively. "Young Master, I am outside the Manor. This cat has been starving outside... Look at her, she's too thin..." Sebastian explained, "I suppose if you truly cannot stand her, I will put her back in the woods... She won't survive much longer..." His hands showed no truth to his words of releasing the kitten, he was still intently petting her. He loved cats and it hurt him to see one so neglected. He had no doubt that the kitten wouldn't last the night if he put her back outside. It was too cold. She was too thin. She would die without Sebastian.

Empathy was not something Ciel Phantomhive could truly relate to in the least. Of course, it did exist inside of him -- deep, deep, in his being -- but it was scarce, and buried beneath many layers of hatred and remorselessness. Nevertheless, the Earl could see the desperation in his butler's eyes. Something about those pleading pools of crimson was able to touch that speck of empathy inside of him, igniting the flames of emotions he never knew existed.
He still wished they didn't. "Fine, you can keep the cat, so long is she is kept outside," the orphan spat, attempting to show his disgust -- though it was hard to express such a feeling when he was not even experiencing it at the moment. He simply could not drop his eternal act; the act in which he was the dastardly villain, out to both emotionally and physically destroy all that he despised. "Do not think this is a gift to you. I am doing it for the cat's sake." All considered, he hoped the butler could acknowledge that such a statement was nothing short of a blatant lie.

It was obvious to Sebastian that the other had lied. He knew his Master hated cats. Sebastian was deeply touched, almost shocked that his Master had allowed him to keep the kitten. "Young Master! Thank you!" he exclaimed, lightly nuzzling the sweet kitten and smiling at her soft mew of affection. He set her down, quickly telling the kitten that he would return. The kitten wouldn't understand him, he knew this, but it was nice for him to speak to the sweet creature.
Sebastian rushed past Ciel, in an effort to get to the kitchen and find some scraps that the kitten could consume. Unfortunately, the kitten would not follow Sebastian's order to stay there. The kitten stumbled inside the Manor, looking up at Ciel and mewing softly. Sebastian was unaware of the developing problem, too involved of collecting cat-friendly foods.

The regal thirteen year old began to back up, fearing for his health as the kitten made its way into the manor. "Sebastian! I told you you were allowed to keep this cat under one condition -- that it stays outside! Put it back out there immediately or I will do away with the thing." Ah, please. This was an exaggeration and he was sure the butler knew that; Ciel, regardless of his heartlessness, would never harm an animal. Especially not a young, helpless one. He may have been cold, but he did have morals.
"Really! Stop digging around for that damn food and come catch the kitten!"

Sebastian quickly returned with a small saucer of milk and another filled with different meats he hoped the kitten would like. "My apologies, Sir," Sebastian replied, picking up the small kitten and scolding her in a playful parental tone. He carried her outside on the steps, setting her down along with the meats and milk. He gently stroked her back, watching her consume the food he had so generously provided her. The demon turned back to his Master and smiled softly.
"Young Master, if there is anything you need, I will gladly preform the task once this kitten is properly fed," Sebastian nodded seriously, proving that the kitten would not get in the way of the tasks he knew that he needed to complete.
